Marketing Analysis

The content on this page highlights M.A. projects I’ve completed and the skills I’ve gained in areas like data analytics, marketing, and business innovation. The projects have also helped me to understand how to utilize my skills in a variety of industries, like consumer goods, nonprofit admin., and entertainment.

Netflix Marketing Analysis

I was assigned the responsibility of researching Netflix’s business strategy and to further evaluate the profit proposition the company uses to make its revenue. I had to further evaluate how the company could broaden its customer base, considering its current subscription prices and markets.

My project team and I developed a hypothetical plan to help the company succeed over its competitors by providing better subscription options to its least profitable markets in Latin America and Asia Pacific.

Business Innovation for ride share nonprofit, Groove On-Demand

Groove On-Demand is a rideshare startup that launched in Memphis, TN in early 2023. This start-up launched as an addition to the city’s public transportation services and I was assigned the task of creating a hypothetical marketing and expansion plan for it. A team of three others and myself were given the responsibility to plan how we would hypothetically help the rideshare gain more customers and also expand its service options.

Over a four-month period, we discussed our ideas, with the help of our professor (a business administration educator), and developed a plan based on real data and marketing results from Groove-On Demand’s operation plan. Overall, the project taught us how to be more innovative when considering the long-term potential of a start-up and also how to plan in advance for desired marketing results.

Nikon Social Media Audit

I was assigned the task of co-auditing the social media account of popular camera brand Nikon. I worked with two other people to compare its social media engagement with that of Canon, Sony and Panasonic brands. We analysed the content engagement of each brand on Facebook, Instagram, and X over a three-month period. My team used the software Metricool to conduct most of our auditing and calculated different results with Microsoft Excel. Overall, I learned how to retrieve and analyze performance data on social media by taking into consideration different value propositions of each social media platform. I also learned to better analyze the different qualities customers prefer when shopping for certain products.
